Swim Programs
Swim Strong teaches the proper techniques to prepare your child to be a strong, safe and competent swimmer.  We want them to enjoy the sport for a lifetime.  Some may want to become competitive swimmers...that's great!  We'd love to help them reach those goals...but children will progress at their own individual pace.  We encourage children to learn all of the competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) so they can successfully try out for more competitive programs.  We work with children who are in the very beginning level as well as those who are already competing but need stroke enhancement work.

We have 5 levels of Development programs:

Level1   "Get Ready Get Wet" Introduction to the water. Getting comfortable.
30 minute sessions

Level2
Learning how to breath properly, floating on stomach and back, learning streamlining techniques. 1 hour

Level3
Strengthening streamlining and breathing skills, adding the arms for proper free and backstrokes. 1 hour

Level4
Continuing to build on the free, back and learning breast stroke , building in lap swim for stamina. 1 hour

level5   Building on previous, learning butterfly, diving and flip turns. 1 hour

We have 5 levels of Competitive, 2 hour programs:

CLevel1
Working to tighten technique across all 4 strokes - sprints (25s)

CLevel2
Building on the sprints to bring times down (50s)

CLevel3
Building in longer course work (100s)

CLevel4
Continuing to build speed and endurance (200's/400s)

Clevel5
Speed and endurance at the (400 + level)

General Information and Policies

Registration Information/ Refund and Make-up Policy:

SSF

Each registration period offers an "Early Enrollment Period" for current members, and a "General Registration Period" for new members.
SSF
Spaces filled during the general registration period are filled on a first come, first served basis.
SSF
Payment is due in full at the time of registration.
SSF
Refund Policy:  No refunds will be given after 7 days PRIOR to the start of the season.  Please consider this before enrolling.
SSF

Make-Up Policy:  Should we not have access to one of our pools due circumstances beyond our control (like a maintenance shut down or swim event) your children are offered the opportunity to swim at one of our other venues.  We do not offer Make-Up sessions.
SSF

While attendance is not mandatory, you obviously get out what you put into the program.  I also consider attendance when it comes to who will participate in our special events.

In General - PLEASE:
SSF

Do not bring your children to class if they are running a fever, vomiting or have diarrhea or in otherwise poor health.

SSF
Have your children take care of their bio break before coming on to the deck.  We don't want them to miss any of their class to take care of that necessity.
SSF

Do emphasize that it is appropriate for them to use the restrooms outside the pool and not the pool itself as a restroom.

SSF
Parents must stay in their designated seating area.
SSF

Do not approach your children or the coaches during the class.  We want the children focused on the instruction given to them by their coaches.

SSF

If you are bringing siblings to the class, be sure to keep an eye on them to be sure they are behaving and not approaching the pool area.

SSF

We expect that the children are here to learn.  While we want that to be a fun experience for them, it is work!  Misbehaving will not be tolerated....for their safety and the safety of others as well as it is a distraction to other swimmers.  If a child misbehaves, they will be asked to leave the session.

SSF

Caps and goggles are required.  Put your child's name into and on every piece of equipment they have.  The coaches are not responsible for lost items.

SSF

There is to be no eating or chewing gum.  Competitive swimmers should bring water or Gatorade in to workout with them in PLASTIC bottles only.  Never glass.

SSF

Parents, if you have any questions, pls feel free to email Shawn.Slevin@theSwimStrongFoundation.org or call my cell at 646 269-7897.  We wish you many years of happy swimming with us!
